Welcome to your next favorite home-away-from-home at High Country Lodge. You'll fall in love with this cabin with an absolutely stunning view overlooking Spearfish Canyon and Terry Peak - one of the best in the Hills! You can even access local ATV trails right from the cabin that can take you all over the Northern Black Hills! It's perfectly located just a couple minutes from Cheyenne Crossing and the start to Spearfish Canyon, 15 minutes from Deadwood with taxi service, 5 minutes to Recreational Springs where you can link up to the snowmobile/ATV trail system and just 45 minutes from all the amazing sights like Mount Rushmore, Keystone, Custer State Park and more! Whether you're in the area to relax and take in the breathtaking views, or here to fill your heart with adventure, High Country Lodge will give you the perfect accommodations for your vacation.

After exploring all day, coming back to your very own cabin will be the icing on the cake. The kitchen features a gourmet kitchen with granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, hardwood hickory floors, and a polished rock dining room table. There's custom decor throughout the cabin and it's accented by large log pillars, vaulted ceilings, and a loft that overlooks the great room and a large rock fireplace! You'll love the 1100 square feet of covered wrap-around deck space with the best view in the area as well! The master bedroom is located on the main floor and has a walk out to the deck, king bed, flat screen tv and a private master bath with jacuzzi tub and heated tile flooring. The 2nd bedroom includes a queen bed with a walk out to the deck as well, and the loft is encapsulated by log pillars and a vaulted ceiling, with a large flat screen TV, a game table filled with multiple fun games, and 2 futons. The lower level has a large family room with another TV, wet bar, and walk out to the covered patio. There's also 2 more bedrooms on the lower level both with queen beds and a private bathroom. We had the pleasure of staying in this beautiful cabin nestled within serene trees and in a great location. Complete with stunning kitchen and very spacious rooms that are beautifully decorated with fresh cut flowers. Large windows and deck that provide stunning views that were a highlight for our family. Highly recommend this magnificent cabin!

Super cabin. Lots of space for everyone in our family. Beautiful views and great sunsets. Great kitchen to gather in the mornings and evenings. Close proximity to activities. The grandkids loved the loft and the hot tub. Be sure to bring your own shower soap and detergent if you plan on doing laundry there. We would love to stay there again sometime!

The house was perfect for our families. There was plenty of room for everyone. The kitchen and utensils provided were better than we have had in the past. One of the front steps was broken in half and appeared others were rotting. We tried to avoid them for fear someone would fall. This needs to be addressed as soon as possible. Other than that the house was great.

The beautiful lodge and location did not disappoint. We were 2 miles off the main road and it was so quiet and peaceful. Terry Peak was right above us and lots of trails to ride with our side by side. The property was clean and well maintained. Plenty of room for the 6 of us. Nice loft area for the kids to play games or watch TV. Spacious bedrooms and three bathrooms. Magnificent sunsets off the deck. Highly recommend the property and we had no need to contact the property manager. We'll keep this in mind for a future stay.

We really enjoyed the High Country Lodge and all it had to offer. There's tons of space for everyone to spread out and lots of amenities to enjoy. Our family loved the deck and views from it, the games upstairs, the fireplace, the grill and dinner on the deck. We used the hot tub each night and loved the fact that it was tucked away from the hustle and bustle but a short drive away from the best the area has to offer. We didn't stay long enough so we are already looking forward to our trip back!

This property has a beautiful view and if you want a location to just stay holed up in the house and sit and look at the beautiful view then this is a great place for you. The house has very nice quality furniture. The only thing that wasn't comfortable was the bed in the bedroom next to the master bedroom. A light over the stove area would have been very nice as it was really dark whenever we were cooking anything on the stove. The kitchen has granite countertops and a granite table so I don't know why expense was spared for lights over the stove area. The house was very clean. Nice large living area space. There were no trash receptacles outside.

We rented this cabin for our spring break. Our group consisted of two families, four adults and five kids. The cabin was clean, spacious, and had all the amenities to both entertain and relax. Hot tub, game room and were the highlights of the evenings. Secluded, beautiful view of the mountainside made for a perfect morning with a cup of coffee. Although nightly snow made it difficult to get out of the cabin some days, a set of tire chains were easily purchased from the local auto supply and property management was easy to get in touch with. We did skiing at Terry Peak, Mt Rushmore, Custer State Park and hiking in Spearfish canyon during our stay- close to all of that.

This was absolutely a beautiful property, and a wonder way to spend the last 5 nights of our 11 night stay in South Dakota. Plenty of room for the family to spread out. A very clean, and very well appointed property within easy driving distance of Deadwood, Spearfish Canyon, Spearfish, Rushmore, and I90. Budi was very attentive and quick to respond to inquiries before and during our stay.

Some constructive feedback:
-Please replace outside trashcans. Much easier to put garbage in those instead of leaving bags out for pickup. Was concern that small animals would poke holes in bag over night.
-Replace some of the furniture on the deck. You're down to only 3 chairs at the outside table, Family of 4 can't have a meal together out there.
-Fix lighting over stove. Undermount lighting was not operational. VERY dark over stove regardless of time of day. Makes it difficult to cook meals.
-Check in on cleaning staff from time to time and walk around property. I personally picked up 3 beer cans (2 of them full/unopened) and 4 beer bottles from the area around/below the deck that were clearly visible from the deck. The date on them was from March so they had been there for awhile. Cigarette butts were also visible near the bottom of the stairs on the side of deck.

We would definitely rent this property in the future. Absolutely loved this layout and seclusion of this property and the western sky was absolutely beautiful for sunset!

This was the perfect home for our adult family of 8! Each couple had their own room and there was plenty of lounging areas. We came to ride UTV’s and really enjoyed how close we were to trail access! We enjoyed a trip into deadwood and the drive through spearfish. Every night we spent the evening drinking on the deck and enjoying the beautiful sunsets! Would recommend this home!

Group of friends came out for the weekend and stayed here, enjoyed every minute of it. The views were awesome and the inside was very clean. We spent most of our weekend at the cabin, and when we come back we will be staying here again hopefully!

We had an excellent time at this cabin! The house was a picture perfect vacation rental. With the most Picture Perfect views! And the house is very clean and everything was as described! I would highly recommend this to anyone!

Our family vacation this year was great!! The location of the cabin was in was a nice secluded area. We adventured around and truly enjoyed our surroundings of a beautiful view!! The cabin fit all 9 of us very comfortably. It was supplied really well for all our needs. Our only issue was finding out internet connection, which the owners helped out and it was taken care of and the stove was out (but we had a smaller toaster oven and grill to use) . The hot tub we could not use but that was ok with us as there is a beautiful deck to sit on and watch the sunsets. Overall we would recommend this beautiful home to anyone looking to stay by Terry Peak/ Lead / Deadwood area. Thanks for allowing our family to enjoy our vacation!!

The High Country Cabin was beyond what I was anticipating. The cabin was beautiful and the view was breath taking.
