My wife and I have stayed in this rental before. It is a small rental with a small bedroom and a bed in the loft. We had another couple join us last minute so we stayed in the loft and gave them the bedroom downstairs. Loft is not terrible. I am 6'2" and managed fine. Queen bed worked for the time there. Steps are plenty steep but just take your time using them and you will be fine. Rental was clean and everything worked as it should. It suited our needs for the 3 nights we were there.

Bobcat Retreat was a wonderful "home" away from home. Great distance to all activities (all within an hour drive or so = Mt Rushmore, Crazy Horse along with Rapid City). The cabin had everything we needed, however cleanliness could have been better (dirty dishes, oven, fridge). We left the place cleaner than we arrived (vacuumed/swept). Great to have the washer and dryer and the hot tub was an added bonus = relax after the days activities. Would like to make it back to the Black Hills again in the winter, try out the snowmobile trails!

It was simply amazing to soak outside, under the stars, in the near privacy (neighbors are far enough away to feel secluded) of this lovely cabin in the woods. We also enjoyed watching the deer graze their way through the trees just a few yards from the cabin. A beautiful place to stay and wonderful people to work with for reservations and follow-up. We accidentally left an item, and they worked with us for its return. Highly recommend Black Hills Adventure Properties!!!

We went there for a relaxed anniversary and that is what we got. Nice cabin. We enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub and sitting by the fire. We would recommend this stay for a family as well.

My family of 5 stayed here. We had a great time. It was clean. The first couple nights were warm with no AC. We’re hot sleepers. One of the mornings was nice and cool so we opened the doors and cooled the house down. It was great after that.

For the cost of the cleaning fee, I am surprised it wasn’t cleaner—the fire place ash was piled high and we had to clean it out before we could have a fire. It snowed the night before our arrival and we had to shovel back porch to get to the hot tub. Cob webs in reachable corners & some reachable spaces hadn’t been dusted and some dishes/pots/pans looked liked they hadn’t been cleaned. Additionally, basic spices (salt) was not available. Check in was easy. Location was nice. Would visit again if I could guarantee the above problems had been addressed.

With that said, people should know that the stairs to the loft are extremely steep. It was no problem for our teenage boys to navigate them although my wife didn't want to risk falling so we slept in the other bedroom. The hot tub was broken for most of our stay but was fixed and warm enough to use on our last night. The tub breaking is out of anyones control and the host communicated that. We were just bummed because that was a big part of why we picked this property. We did enjoy the tub once we were able to use it.

Enjoyed the fireplace and the hot tub! Also enjoyed the break from cell service as there was no wifi and cell service was spotty. Stairs to top floor are pretty steep. There were clean towels left in the dryer when we arrived.

The Bobcat Retreat was a perfect choice for our SD adventure. It’s located in a cabin subdivision but we still had lots of privacy and room for our trailer. Had a wonderful stay @ the Bobcat! Clean & tidy cabin to relax & disconnect from the world. The hot tub was perfect compliment after a day of ‘playing tourist’ in the Black Hills! Will definitely stay here again! Note: watch your toes by the fireplace ;)

Our family’s first trip to then Black Hills was a great time! The house was clean and had everything we needed. We enjoyed the remote location, while still a short trip to restaurants and activities. Would definitely recommend!

We brought a lot of our own food to cook and the kitchen was fully stocked with pans, utensils, spices, and even crockpots! It was great! Everything we could have possibly needed was there. Very comfortable and relaxing. Would rent again. The only negative I can think of is the shower stall is.....very....small. Barely enough room to turn around in. Not a show stopper though.

We had a fabulous time side by siding in the Black Hills but it was a highlight of our vacation coming back to such a welcoming, quaint, extremely clean cabin. The whirlpool was a fantastic treat after 6 hours in the hills and the laundry facilities were a lifesaver! Another feature that we didn’t expect was a fully stocked kitchen with everything, minus the food, you would ever need!!! Thank you for such a wonderful experience! We will be back!!

Although a little far from the main South Dakota attractions like Badlands, Mount Rushmore and Custer State Park, this little A Frame was a nice place to stay. In a quiet setting with a great hot tub. The stairs to the loft can be a little tricky as they are very steep and narrow. We didn't take any of our luggage up there. The only thing missing is a hair dryer!

We went to a wedding in the area. We stayed at the cabin and had a great time. Our grandson loved the woods and deer. It was close to Lead and Deadwood. Perfect trip. The whole family loved it.

My girlfriend and I decided to use this place as a weekend getaway before finals week in college to relax and unwind a little. The location was nice and secluded, very clean, and very relaxing.

The only issue we ran into was the hot tub wasn't working when we got there, but the owner was very timely and helpful in getting someone to come out and fix it so we could still use it before we left.

Overall the weekend was amazing, we wish we had discovered this place earlier because we would have rented this cabin out a few more times!

Bobcat Retreat was a very welcome trip for my wife and I. Great location in the Hills for a weekend of snowshoeing and then recovery in the hot tub. Spearfish Canyon and Eagle Creek trails are very close, for those looking for hiking and outdoors activities.

We were second guessing our logic when we decided to stay at a "cabin" to combat cabin fever. But we have no regrets. This property was wonderful! Location has that secluded private feel, even though other properties are in the area. Site has great access to the Highway to get to Skiing, Deadwood, Lead, and of course Cheyenne Crossing (Great Food). The Cabin was very clean, has modern conveniences and is wonderfully supplied. Kitchen utensils and cookware were perfect for our use. We set puzzles, played cards, and games we found on the shelf. Used the Hot tub and fireplace. We mostly just relaxed and had a great time. We were secretly hoping the snow storm would make us snow bound for a couple extra days, but the storm track by passed the area. Budi was great to work with when we were deciding if we might need to stay an extra day because of road conditions back to Bismarck. Thanks for the exceptional stay and experience. We hope to come back again.

This cabin was extremely clean and nice to stay in! Would definetly stay there again. However, the batteries in the thermostat died in the middle of night and there were no other batteries in the house, so it was freezing and we had to drive into town to buy some /:

A mom and daughter girls trip was accomplished thanks to this cozy little cabin hidden in the woods. The hot tub was a perfect touch to long days spent exploring the area. The drive into Lead and Deadwood wasn't too far, it was a gorgeous drive any direction you traveled. Loved eating at the Cheyenne Crossing, great food and awesome staff. Also enjoyed exploring the history of Lead. Did some shopping in Deadwood - vintage jewels, boutiques and lots of coffee over the course of the weekend. It was a perk that the cabin had left over K-Cups for coffee every morning - this allowed us to take advantage of the porch. We woke every morning to the sunrise on the deck and sipped our coffee!
