Great Location and nice little cabin!
Reviewed on 2024-08-11 by Scott R. , Ansley, NE USWe stayed at the cabin during the Sturgis Rally. We were there for hiking and site seeing. Lots of motorc ycles in the area but they didn't bother us much. Lots of great hiking in the Spearfish Canyon area. Toured Custer State Park on the way to the cabin. On way home, took Needles highway. That is a must see. Beautiful area and the weather was awesome (55-60 degrees during the day). Cabin could use a little up keep but overall it was good!

Decent cabin for a simple weekend
Reviewed on 2022-04-05 by , Rapid City, SD USOverall our experience was good. They advertise a murphy bed, but there wasn't one. The freezer door would not close, so we had to tape it shut. The steps for the deck were pretty worn down. The cabin was clean.

Snownato
Reviewed on 2021-10-17 by James V. , TRIMBLE, MO United StatesWellll, no one's fault but we were snowed in the whole stay. Used the hot tub once before there was to much snow to remove the top. There is the first problem we had, no broom. With that kind of snow power could of been a real problem. Problem # 2, there should be emergency wood. Put a charge on it if used. Problem # 3, no shovel. I had to borrow the neighbors shovel to dig out up to 30" of snow. If it weren't for a freak snow storm it would of been perfect.

SD cabin
Reviewed on 2021-07-19 by David L. , LOWELL, AR USCute well-furnished cabin but not a 2-bed room. There’s a full-size murphy bed in the in the living room, this is not a bedroom. We had trouble with the washing machine and the manager was no help, we finally figured out the hot and cold were hooked up backwards. But overall, not a bad place.
Loved this cabin
Reviewed on 2021-06-08 by Mary A. , Grass Lake, MI United StatesWe had a wonderful time using this cozy cabin as base camp while we explored the northern Black Hills area. Great location up on Terry Peak! Nights cooled off and we never needed the A/C. Would love to come back.

Small cabin
Reviewed on 2020-10-25 by Emily L. , Sioux Falls, SD United StatesThe small cabin is what we expected as we knew it was an older cabin, the hottub was nice and the bed was comfortable, the problem was a large amount of mold growing in the bathroom and the shower was just a trickle of water, this is not an exaggeration, multiple contact with the property manager were made to where they promised to come look at it daily but never came the 4 days we were there, the knob was broken on the bathtub in the bedroom bath so couldn’t even try to take a bath.
Relaxing break
Reviewed on 2020-08-10 by , Greenwood , IN USMy husband and I, along with our two kids, were looking for an outdoor vacation that would give us a bit of a break from COVID. The Black Hills did not disappoint, and this cabin was a great place to stay. It was very clean and the management company was professional. The "living room" furniture was very nice and the beds (even the murphy bed) were comfortable. There are pros and cons to the location -- in the winter, it is a great location for skiing. It is right around the corner from Terry Peaks. In the summer, it is off the beaten path, but still close to some main roads and small towns. It was a great location for sights in the northern part of the Black Hills, but a bit of a trek down to Custer State Park, Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse, etc. The hot tub was VERY nice and the stars were wonderful!

Perfect for us!
Reviewed on 2019-03-03 by Brenda V. , Lincoln, NE USWe loved our stay. The cabin is older, but well cared for with all the extras, i.e. hot tub, TV’s, washer and dryer, large kitchen space, and two bathrooms. There were just two of us, but other family stayed nearby and we had plenty of space to sit around the table and play cards. The Murphy bed allowed a grandchild to stay with us one night.

Rustic cabin - great location, needs some work
Reviewed on 2018-06-28 by Anne W. , Helena, MT United StatesWe chose this location to be close to the archery shoot on Terry Peak, so I was balancing cost against convenience and considered driving up from a hotel in Lead/Deadwood. The master bedroom is roomy and comfortable, but the living room/murphy bed feels very tight and crowded if you have kids with you. Both bathrooms are very tiny. AC is only located in the kitchen, but the heat works well. Highlights include sitting on the porch swing, watching the squirrels play.
