Welcome to your next home-away-from-home here at Cougar Camp! This wonderfully decorated vacation home is located in the popular Deer Mountain area, located close to all the Northern Hills recreational activities. Recreational Springs is within 1 mile of the property, where you can connect up with the local ATV and snowmobile trails and ride to your hearts desire! Looking to do some sightseeing? Spearfish Canyon, with it's beautiful ponds, streams, canyon walls, caves and hike is within a 5 minute drive from the property. You can also enjoy some local food at Cheyenne Crossing at the entrance to Spearfish Canyon - this location is hard to beat! Deadwood and Terry Peak are all within 15 minutes from the property, while Ski Mystic Miner is only 1 mile away as well! Feeling a bit more adventurous, Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Keystone and Custer are within a 45 minute drive from the property. There's so many options to enjoy the Black Hills from this location, Cougar Cabin works great for your base camp while you explore.

After taking in the sites you'll love coming home to this cabin sanctuary. You'll enjoy the local wildlife roaming through the yard, the beautiful starry skies, wind blowing through the ponderosa pines all while you take it in from the new hot tub! A gas fire pit and gas heater (on deck) also brings you to enjoy the outdoors at this wonderful cabin. The log cabin and alluring wood accents will have you loving the cozy feel, while you cuddle up and kick your feet up by the fire while you enjoy your company. The open concept makes it easy to gather with your family & friends and make new memories. With 2 bedrooms and an open loft used as a bedroom, there's enough room to spread out for smaller groups and 6 total beds if you plan to travel with some family/friends. There's a king bed in the main floor master bedroom, 3 full beds in the bunk room, and 2 twin beds in the loft. The living room opens up into the deck area where you're surrounding by pine trees and can enjoy grilling out and laughing with your friends. Finally, you'll enjoy the garage to store your motorcycles, ATVs, and snowmobiles when you're relaxing at the cabin. With all of these amenities, you'll enjoy the convenience to local adventures and have a great place to come back to. It's a nice cabin in a good location with no funky rules. Some rentals are pain. This one couldn't have been easier. The backyard deer were a nice bonus.

We stayed a the cabin for a week. The cabin was nice and location was great. The cabin was supplied with everything you need but I would recommend suppling additional wash clothes. There was only a couple wash clothes. The shower upstairs and the jets in the bath tub downstairs did not appear to be the cleanest so we cleaned them before we used them. There was dust bunnies in the corner on the floor in the upstairs bedroom but overall a great place.

The cabin was a great vacation for our family. immediately felt at home and was able to relax after a long drive. Having a heated garage to take off all our gear and hang up comfortably before heading inside was a major plus for us.

The Cabin provided everything we hoped for. It was a pleasant stay and if we ever return to the area we will likely stay there again.

The only bad thing was not always having hot water during our showers. However this was mention in the guest book and understood the reasoning.

Eight of us stayed at the Cougar Cabin and had a fantastic time. It was easy to find, the cabin was in great shape, very clean, plenty of space for all of us. We would definitely stay here again!

A great location to get away and see the Northern area of the Black Hills. The kitchen faucet needs some work to get hot water, but besides that everything was wonderful. A nice cabin to hang out and relax after a day of 4-wheelin'.

Our family loved our time at Cougar Camp. The house had everything we needed to settle in for a few days of ATV adventure. There were 7 adults so plenty of space but we were definitely lacking in hot water and water pressure for showers. Otherwise everything was just what we were looking for. We especially liked the "man cave" garage space to play bean bags at night and the hot tub was great!

We had a great stay and really enjoyed our time in this area. Our family felt so rejuvenated. The cabin was great for our family. It was very well equipped. We found the book of "rules" for the cabin to be a bit confusing as one page would say one thing and another page contradicted it. We enjoyed watching deer off of the patio. The only real problem we had was the dryer wasn't drying correctly when we arrived. I found the outside vent completely plugged and cleared it and that fixed the problem.

It was a great cabin, in a great location. Only thing that needed to be done was clothes dryer vent needed to be cleaned outside. Clothes dryer didn't dry till it was cleaned.

Rode utvs 555 miles in 6 days of riding combination roads and trails.Took a learning curve riding at legal traffic speeds. We used map apps on our phones much better than mvum maps.

We had a wonderful time. Location was great, it was quiet, it was cozy, and I will definently be back. Very clean, everything you need is there (seasonings, pots, pans, tin foil, etc) We made sure to leave some stuff for the next guests! Very easy process with Budy to get this set up.

We all had a great time. We wanted a place to sit and relax every night, but also one that was close enough to different sites to explore. The cabin was very comfortable and homey.

My wife, daughter , son-n-law and myself had a wonderful stay at the cabin. The cabin was well stocked, clean and all the amenities were provided as advertised. The Tv in the living room is a little small for avid football fans but it still worked great. Cabin is located great. We highly recommend this cabin. Also if you want a great steak go to Spearfish and eat at Steerfish and smoke.

The Cougar Camp was gorgeous! It is a beautiful cabin tucked into the trees. The view from the open windows was the perfect sight to wake up to each morning. We came to Lead to snowmobile and the location of Cougar Camp was spot on. We rode the sleds across the highway to Recreational Springs and into the trails. I would recommend this place to anyone and we will be back!!

The Cougar Cabin was exceptional... been staying in the Hills for 25 years... best cabin for our group ever. Comfortable, clean, had everything anyone would need in the kitchen. Hot tub was super clean and nice. Deck had ample room-seating, grill worked great. Peaceful surroundings. Had great water pressure, never ran out of hot water but we are not a wasteful bunch. Dishwasher, Ice maker, beds and bedding top notch. Right across the road from Recreational Springs for food, ice and fuel for the UTV’S, ten minutes to Lead grocery store, 15 to Deadwood. Awesome location and property

This is probably the 9th or 10th cabin we have stayed at in the deadwood/lead area and I can honestly say this was one of the most welcoming, well-stocked, homey, cleanest cabins we have ever been in. We loved everything about it - it was honestly everything we needed! Thank you very much - we would love to be back someday and were really sad to have to leave!

We were looking for a change of scenery during the pandemic, and this place was perfect. Quiet and peaceful! Although there are other houses nearby, we had plenty of privacy and quiet. The house was beautiful, very clean, had everything we needed, and was conveniently located. We will definitely consider staying again in the future.

This place was beautiful and in a grest location for everything we wanted to see and do. We come to the Hills every year. If we don't stay at the Spearfish Canyon Lodge, we try and find a VRBO. We would stay here again.

Cabin has everything that we needed. Great and easy location to get to. This cabin was very clean, and comfortable. Great outdoor deck area to relax on if the weather is right. Budi was easy to work with if we had questions or issues. Only issues were small. Quite neighborhood with lots of space between homes. Turkeys and deer were seen right outside the cabin. Beds were comfortable, fireplace and firepit were so nice to have. Same with the grille on the deck. Highly recommend this rental property. WiFi is a little slow but for us it was no issue. Only used internet to look up restaurants and other local info. Hope to return back to the northern hills and the Cougar Cabin.

Good home base to the many area attractions. Hot tub nice to use at the end of the day.

Only item to point out is the hot water heater seemed to not supply much hot water. We had cool showers.

Was a great weekend - great location - great cabin! Will be back to use again. Close to town to get supplies for eating at "home", close to places we wanted to go and see. Perfect spot for a perfect weekend get away!

We recently had the joy of staying at this beautiful cabin in the Black Hills. While we were there we celebrated Thanksgiving and a early Chritmas which we called ThanksMas! The cabin was just perfect for our family of ten. It is beautifully decorated with a very homey atmosphere and very clean and nicely kept. Budi was very accommodating to our every need and a very pleasant person to work with. We hope to get back there to stay sometime soon..
We highly recommend the Cougar Cabin!
